**Building new models – as part of an independent research to create state-of-the-art solutions to some real world challenging problems. This includes:
-- Building Prototypes (NOVEL) models including:
p_ClusaX_tree – A new packing techniques for static spatial databases which performs better in space utilization for indexing, through cautious data packing.PKT-ACK – An improvement of the new algorithm for initial cluster centres in k -means algorithm proposed by Erisoglu et.al (2011).P-Data – A NOVEL improved model for imputing missing data in a dataset
Dr. Grace intends to initiate robust systems that supports research and evaluation in higher education, social care, health, technology and the third sector.
Current work/Interest:
She has recently worked as an AI research scientist with the University of Leeds UK (in collaboration with Urban Analytics and LIDA) on an AI (machine learning, NLP, deep learning, data science, etc.) related project funded by the Alan Turing Institute grant titled:
“Leveraging Data Analytics to Learn the Unknowable: Using AI”
The outcome of the project will apply to Healthcare/Finance data/Business etc.
Dr Grace’s interest majorly centres around AI (machine learning, deep learning, data analytics, natural language processing, computer vision), Spatial data mining, and research software development (using python and other modern languages). She has a flair for teaching and has been into it for a while.
She is particularly interested in teaching computing/ICT, programming, and AI (machine learning, deep learning, data science, etc) related courses.
Focus:
Her current project at the University of Leeds is focused on using smart AI tools (machine learning, NLP, deep learning, data analytics etc..) to address the challenging problem of unlocking information about certain features that are not observable directly, so that the inference can only be based on available auxiliary data.Former research work:
Dr Grace had her PhD research project on “AN EFFECTIVE APPROACH TO PREDICTING LARGE DATASET IN SPATIAL DATA MINING AREA”, majoring on big data management and information manipulation, and specialising in Artificial intelligence with spatial data mining/database science and machine learning.She has also worked at the University of Huddersfield UK as a research assistant on the project titled:“Quantitative research for HR-LAW: European Human Rights Law for Universities of Ukraine and Moldova”.The project involves conducting AI related experiments involving human experimentation and all aspects of it.
Additional skills:She obtained a PhD degree in computer science and Informatics with application in image analysis/processing, computer vision, NLP, AI (pattern recognition and analytics, ML).She is proficient in programming, specialising in languages like Python, JavaScript, Html, SQL etc.She has a track record of research publications and ongoing projects in computer vision and AI (pattern recognition/data analytics, ML, NLP, Deep Learning). ABOUT DR GRACE L. SAMSON COMPUTING INDEPENDENT RESEARCH WORK
Dr Grace L Samson, Conducts independent research on critical/logical thinking and problem solving through computer vision, machine learning, pattern recognition and data mining, using both Python and JavaScript programming languages.
**She has worked on PKT, a new highly peer-reviewed detection for color-based object detection that improves the performance of learning procedures in terms of speed, accuracy, and efficiency, using spatial inference, and algorithm. (PKT model (was applied to solving rea-world pattern recognition/pattern recognition problem and it scaled high
**She is currently working on p_Clus, a robust and rapid density/proximity-based model for spatial clustering. Which will apply advanced filtering (machine learning) and data mining mechanism to achieve great efficiency on computer vision tasks.
This project requires using a large amount of data to manipulate, analyse, and find trends in activities and behaviours of consumers/customers/dataset, parameters, agents/events etc. Subsequently, the project would produce a prototype system by designing and implementing efficient solutions that can deliver coherent remedies using p_Clus functionalities.
The main target of this project is to create a management information system that can influence operational performance and deliver continuous improvements in a growing dataset/business/organisation/incidences.

She is the author of the best selling book THE PRAYERS THAT RUN. She also wrote POVERTY IS A MAN.
